"Why I'm Drug Free" Poster & Essay Contest
 
The Massachusetts Elks is holding their 18th annual "Drug Awareness" Poster & Essay Contest.  Poster contest is for grades 3, 4 & 5.  Essay Contest is for grades 6, 7 and 8.  Prizes will be awarded to one boy and one girl from each catagory.  Four Multi-Speed Mountain Bikes with helmets will be awarded to the grand prize winners. 
 
Posters should be on an standard 8 1/2" x11" paper.  Must relate to theme, "Why I'm Drug Free."
Essays must be legible, but not necessarily typed.  Limited to 250 words or less.
 
Entries will be judged by the local Elks Lodge on originality and how well they relate to the theme.  Four winners will be selected, one boy and one girl from each catagory and they will be eligible to compete with other winners in the District.  Prizes will be awarded to local winners.
 
All entries must be submitted to North Adams Elks by February 1, 2006, 100 Eagle Street, North Adams, MA 01247.  Contact Drug Awareness Chairman Keith Bona at 664-0729 for more information.  Information packets have been sent to local schools in Williamstown, North Adams, Clarksburg, and Florida.
